Philippe Jabre was born in 1960 in Beirut. He is married to Zaza Emile Riachi and the father of four children. After completing his schooling at Our Lady of Jamhour and spent one year at AUB, he moved to Canada in 1978, at the beginning of the civil war. He obtained a bachelor degree in Economics at Concordia University in Montreal. In 1982, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School in New York. He left for France and joined the BAII, a consortium including Arab governments, Paribas and Bank of America. He specializes in speculative share trading. Housed in Switzerland since 2007, Philippe Jabre is head of Jabre Capital Partners, a company of about 70 employees that manages Hedge-Funds.
Because he believes in the potential of the Lebanese, Philippe Jabre established in 2001 an association that grants aid to educational and cultural institutions, socio-medical aid, school aid and university scholarships. . "I want to give them the chance I had to be able to pursue higher education which is key to my professional success."
More than economic aid, Philippe Jabre Association offers youth who receive assistance a plural message: that it is with others we succeed, the acquisition of diplomas and degrees is a necessary step, but it is not final, the course of each is in constant becoming and everyone can contribute through personal success in sustainable development and peace.
